On 17 June 1998, Eritrean mothers prayed for peace following the brutal TPLF-led Ethiopian invasion of 1998–2001.
This came after Ethiopian forces led by the TPLF killed Eritrean soldiers in Badme, #Eritrea, the Ethiopian parliament declared war on Eritrea, and Ethiopian forces bombed Asmara airport on 5 June 1998.
