Eritrea’s delegation, led by Foreign Minister Osman Saleh, met in Washington with U.S. Under Secretary of State for Political Affairs Allison Hooker and Assistant Secretary for Africa Frank Garcia, according to Information Minister Yemane Gebremeskel.
Minister Osman welcomed the lifting of unilateral sanctions as a vital step toward a new page in Eritrea-U.S. relations, and discussed trade, investment, and Eritrea’s role in peace and security across the Horn of Africa, the Red Sea, and the Gulf of Aden.
