A 30-year-old Ethiopian migrant named Tsegaab Ademassu Binessu has been charged with three counts of second-degree murder after allegedly executing three employees inside a St. Paul, Minnesota apartment leasing office.
Prosecutors state that Binessu became enraged when staff refused to cancel his recently renewed $65-per-month garage parking contract after he sold his car. Surveillance video shows him entering the office and shooting all three victims multiple times.
Police recovered 21 spent 9mm shell casings at the scene.
The victims have been identified as Nansi G. Fuentes Zambrano, 25; Dena M. Silcox, 56; and Adam J. Wilwerding, 43. All three worked for the Mid Continent Management Corporation.
Investigators report that Binessu told them he “hated the American system.”
He blamed years of unsuccessful attempts to bring his wife and children from Ethiopia for his divorce and family separation, and claimed he had been treated unfairly because he is Black and an immigrant.
