The United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (ECA) Executive Secretary, Claver Gelete, visited Eritrea on August 26th to bolster collaboration between Eritrea and the UN. Upon his arrival in Asmara, he received a warm welcome from President Isias Afwerki and UN Resident Coordinator Nahla Valij. Discussions centered on enhancing cooperation in energy, agriculture, water security, and climate change mitigation. Additionally, the ECA delegation toured the Adi Halo dam and various agriculture sites in Eritrea. This visit signifies a commitment to furthering partnerships and addressing important developmental challenges in the region.
